	Karen Wallis Karen’s stunning figurative work conveys a tenderness and appreciation of the innate female form. In these images beauty can be glimpsed or imagined through the layers of transparent drapery and the hazy atmosphere. The human form when seen in part or with an element of mystery provokes the imagination and captivates the viewer in a way that full revelation does not. In her abstract work Karen is intrigued with the portrayal of space. She believes that often the beauty of hidden spaces, that are just outside our range of vision are not registered. Our mind’s eye however, sees such places and spaces and our senses are stimulated beyond our immediate comprehension. This, she endeavours to portray on her canvas.
